Making CLIMA 2022 a real hybrid congress

All newsOrganisingProgramUncategorized

In the digital world in which we live, the choice to be able to follow a congress online can no longer be ignored. That is why CLIMA 2022 can be followed both in-person and online. We are proud of all opportunities our hybrid platform (also online) offers CLIMA visitors, sponsors and submitters.

During CLIMA 2022 we will use ACS digital platform, which will be open to all participants on May 16th. There, the full program (including the titles and abstracts of all papers and workshops and other sessions) and all details related to our keynote speakers, sponsors and other activities will be available.

  • All registered participants will receive an email from ACS with their login details by May 16th.
  • All registered presenting authors have already received an email from ACS with login details and instructions on how to upload their presentations and videos. If you are a presenting author and didn’t receive this email (sent May 3rd), please check your Spam box. Otherwise, send an email to sc@clima2022.org as soon as possible.
  • All presenting authors who come to Rotterdam, will present their papers and posters live.
  • All presenting authors were asked to pre-record their presentation, to make it  available ON-DEMAND to all participants, on our ACS digital platform. This the way on-line participants can access the presentations and posters.
  • All presenting authors joining us ONLINE, will also present live in all sessions. There will be a ZOOM meeting running in each session and online presenters will be projected on the screen in the room. The ZOOM access is limited to the presenting authors of a specific session (they will receive a separate link). There will be NO access to the zoom for the audience. The audience can look the presentations through the ON-DEMAND button on ACS platform.
  • If an online or onsite participant is not present in his/her session on time, we will NOT play his/her videos uploaded to our digital platform. We will use the time for discussion. The presentation is, however, available to all participants to watch ON-DEMAND.
  • All posters will be displayed during the whole conference in the main area of CLIMA2022 and they will be also available online via our digital platform ACS.
  • There will be a parallel live stream of three sessions (generally one parallel session and two interactive sessions) during the whole conference. You will be able to see which sessions will be streamed in the Conference Agenda on ACS.

Whether you are live with us in Rotterdam or joining us online, we wish you a succesful congress!

Thomas Auer keynote speaker theme Circularity

All newsCircularityProgram

We are excited to announce Professor Thomas Auer as one of our speakers on the theme Circularity! Prof. Auer is managing director of Transsolar, Stuttgart. The Climate Engineering practice has received international attention over the last three decades and is working on all scales from single buildings to urban neighbourhoods. As Professor and Chair of Building Technology and Climate Responsive Design at the Department of Architecture of TU Munich, he focuses on a holistic design approach. For buildings and cities, it is crucial to recognize the sustainability goals of the EU as well as the reduction of substantial CO2 emissions in the building sector, as defining parameter.

Prof. Auer and Transsolar have always advocated an understanding of energy efficiency that goes beyond technology. They develop holistic concepts that incorporate the urban and regional scale. The overall objective of this approach is to create maximum comfort in the interior as well as in the exterior of the built environment while minimizing the use of resources at the same time. Prof. Auer works in interdisciplinary teams and has established a three-step approach comprising space design, building performance design and infrastructure design.

Marjan Minnesma keynote speaker at opening ceremony

All newsProgram

We are excited to announce Marjan Minnesma as keynote lecturer at the opening ceremony of CLIMA 2022 on Sunday, May 22nd 2022. Marjan is director of the Urgenda Foundation, an organization that successfully realized a ruling by the Dutch Supreme Court, finding that the Dutch government is required to take faster and more drastic measures to combat climate change. Marjan has been named the most influential person working in the field of sustainability in the Netherlands three years in a row. In 2015 she was declared to be a ‘leading global thinker’ by the authoritative American magazine Foreign Policy.

“Marjan Minnesma wrote the report and agenda for the Netherlands: “100% sustainable energy in the Netherlands in 2030; It is possible, if we really want to” including all figures and pathways for the next fifteen years. Therefore we feel she is the best person to open the scientific programme of CLIMA 2022 and introduce our overall theme: EYE ON 2030,” says Atze Boerstra, Congress President of CLIMA 2022. “As the program is getting more and more concrete CLIMA 2022 promises to be an attractive event for academics as well as for representatives of manufacturers, installers, consulting engineers and clients. In fact, our goal is to make CLIMA 2022 the most versatile and varied congress ever organized for REHVA.”
